Are you an aspiring business owner or an ardent community activist dedicated to promoting change in underprivileged, displaced, or refugee communities around the world? If so, you might want to apply for the Watson Institute-sponsored Western Union Foundation Fellowship. This extensive initiative, which strives to give social innovators the skills and information they need to increase economic access and magnify their effect, is fully supported. Over the course of 16 weeks, participants will be fully immersed in a dynamic curriculum that is designed to support community inclusion, help them adjust to changes in the labor market, and help them spark long-lasting changes in their local communities.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You are a business owner or community activist with strong relationships to underprivileged, displaced, or forced communities across the globe. You would be a fantastic fellow if you have an entrepreneurial spirit, a growth-oriented mindset, and a strong desire to improve your leadership in your community.
  • Ideally, your business is in the Problem-Solution Fit or Product-Market Fit phases, with happy clients or beneficiaries and measurable income and impact results.
  • It is imperative to dedicate yourself to the entire 16-week program, which entails a virtual immersive experience spanning two weeks. Applications that are totally committed to participating actively for the course of the program are given priority. A strong sense of community is essential to its success, and everyone who participates must be enthusiastic and fully engaged in order to learn and grow.

  • Expert-led weekly sessions on a range of topics, including team management, pitching, funding, go-to-market, data & metrics, and foundations.

  • One-to-three-day fellow-led workshops in each fellow’s neighbourhood. Ideas for solutions are generated, business models are created, and external audiences are successfully informed about the projects.
  • a grand finale celebration scheduled for November 19, 2024. Selected Fellows present to prominent entrepreneurs, funders, and leaders in the community and throughout the world.
  • A fund consisting of $36,000 in venture development stipends will be allocated to a subset of Western Union Foundation Fellows in accordance with their advancement and influence during the Fellowship.
