Youth AgriChampions 2024

With great pleasure, the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens (BKMC) announces the hosting of the third Youth AgriChampions workshop series, a peer-to-peer initiative centred around agricultural climate adaptation. About fifteen youth delegates from backgrounds in agricultural business and grassroots farming in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Zambia are brought together by this program. These speakers will discuss their personal experiences adjusting farming methods to the effects of climate change. A youth demand document will be created during the July 2024 workshops by BKMC Youth AgriChampions and presented in prestigious political venues by BKMC co-chair and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The Demand Paper for 2024 will include “locally-led adaptation for smallholder farming” as its main focus.

In past years, the BKMC delegation has travelled with a chosen group of Youth AgriChampions to COP27 in Sharm El Sheikh and COP28 in Dubai, where they introduced the Demand Paper and promoted the interests of farmers across the globe.
