Digital Thriving Fellowship Program Harvard Graduate School of Education

Do you work as a researcher, teacher, podcaster, artist, or in another field that is passionate about enabling young people and society to thrive in the digital age? We would love to speak with you at the Centre for Digital Thriving!

For the academic year 2024–2025, we are presently accepting applications for our first-ever Digital Thriving Fellows program. As a Fellow, you will join a community of like-minded individuals who collaborate in a variety of fields, interests, and backgrounds. We will discuss how to foster digital empowerment through projects that are youth-focused, equity-driven, and critically optimistic.

We encourage you to submit if you are actively working on ideas, projects, or research that in today’s technologically advanced environment can help young people and society as a whole. Your unique viewpoint and talents may be crucial in creating a future in which youth prosper and meaningfully use technology into their daily lives.

The purpose of starting this program

  • Create a community that values mutual aid and practice.
  • Encourage the creation of new concepts, processes, and tools.
  • Offer support for continuing initiatives related to new topics relevant to thriving in a tech-driven setting.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • We especially welcome entries from U.S.-based researchers, K–12 teachers, designers, legislators, artists, community leaders, makers, and other relevant professionals.
  • These candidates should be highly motivated, have a track record of success, and be deeply committed to fostering flourishing in a technologically advanced society.
  • Applicants are not eligible to apply at this time if they are currently enrolled full-time as graduate or undergraduate students. But in some cases, part-time students can be eligible; don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you need more information.

Benefits:

  • Funded Fellowships: Each funded fellow will receive a grant of $25,000 to help with project-related costs, including travel, materials, time, and conference/event registration fees.
  • Fellowships that are externally funded: Recipients of these fellowships have raised the necessary funds on their own to directly support their initiatives. With the help of these fellowships, you can work on your idea and interact with a friendly intellectual community.
  • Please be aware that these fellowships are not full-time jobs; rather, we anticipate that the majority of fellows will hold down other jobs throughout their fellowship.

Deadline:  May 30,2024
