New York Set for ‘Parade of the Planets’ in June

New York City and other northern hemisphere locations will have their eyes on the sky on June 3, for an extraordinary celestial phenomenon known as the “Parade of the Planets. ” The rare planetary alignment will offer sky watchers a perfect opportunity to see the six planets in a stunning lineup.

This heavenly show will have Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune, forming a line in the pre-dawn sky, to offer a stunning visual to sky-gazers. In the case of the first four planets, it is possible to see them with the naked eye; however, if you want to see all six planets in detail, you will need to use binoculars or a telescope.

The moon will also put in the show, with its celestial performance that will only add to the spectacle between Uranus and Mars.

For those who did not attend this event, they can also have a second chance to watch a similar alignment on August 28th. The upcoming February 28, 2025, will be a very special day as a lineup of seven planets is expected to be seen, excluding Pluto. It will become possible to watch simultaneous alignments of 5 planets with the naked eye on September 8, 2040, and March 15, 2080.
