Real Madrid clinched a record-setting 15th Champions League title by defeating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in an intense final at Wembley Stadium.
Vinicius Junior sealed the win for Madrid with a goal in the 83rd minute, just nine minutes after Dani Carvajal had put the Spanish giants ahead.
The match began with Dortmund showing dominance in the first half. Real Madrid’s goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, made several crucial saves, and Niclas Fullkrug’s shot hit the post. Despite Dortmund’s strong start, they couldn’t capitalize on their chances.
Madrid turned the game around in the second half. Carvajal scored the first goal by heading in Toni Kroos’ corner at the near post in the 74th minute. Shortly after, Jude Bellingham set up Vinicius, who coolly slotted the ball into the far corner, securing the victory and sending the Madrid fans into a frenzy.
Vinicius’ goal dashed Dortmund’s hopes of pulling off a major upset. Although the German side had controlled much of the first half, Courtois’ saves and the post denied them any goals.
Coach Edin Terzic’s tactics initially kept Madrid’s stars in check, but Madrid regrouped during the break and gradually took control in the second half.
This victory solidified Real Madrid’s position as the most successful club in Champions League history, adding yet another title to their impressive legacy.
