International students are invited to apply for the 2025–2026 KILLAM Postdoctoral Research Fellowship. This esteemed fellowship provides, among other things, a $4,000 travel research grant for the same term and an annual stipend of $60,000 for up to two years. The Killam Scholarship was created in honor of Izaak Walton Killam by his wife, Dorothy Johnston Killam, and is funded by gifts made during her lifetime. Its objectives are to further research and education at five Canadian universities as well as the Canada Council for the Arts.
A broad range of research disciplines are covered by the Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies’ annual UBC Killam Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. Mrs. Killam conveyed her hope that the winners of the fellowship will advance education and succeed in their specialized sectors.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must not have attended any University of British Columbia campus to pursue doctoral studies.
- Must have completed all PhD requirements no later than 24 months before the fellowship is scheduled to begin.
- Must not be employed by a university or college in a permanent or tenure-track capacity. Candidates with term, temporary, or non-tenure track faculty positions are welcome to apply.
