Eligibility Criteria:
Master’s students:
- must be a student at a university outside of Slovakia.
- ought to have finished their education for a minimum of 2.5 years.
- must be approved for a 1-2 semester or 1-3 trimester mobility program at a university in Slovakia.
PhD candidates:
- Apparently attending a university outside of Slovakia.
- Accepted for a research stay of one to ten months in a recognized Slovakian institution.
Academic scholars, educators, and artists:
- Must be invited by an approved Slovakian research organisation.
- Should intend to remain for one to ten months in order to conduct research, teach, or create art.
Note: After winning a scholarship, applicants must wait at least two years to reapply and cannot be citizens of Slovakia.
Benefits:
The value of the scholarship varies according to your qualifications and experience:
- Monthly tuition for master’s level university students is €620.
- PhD candidates pay €1025.50 a month.
- Academic Researchers, Teachers, and Artists:
- With fewer than four years of experience and no doctorate: €1025.50 per month
- With a doctorate and fewer than ten years of experience: €1370 monthly
- With a PhD and over a decade of experience: €1470 monthly
- Note: Only employment history relevant to the application deadline is taken into account. Up to six years of experience can be gained during PhD coursework.
- The scholarship is meant to pay living expenses, such as lodging and food, in Slovakia.
- Your host organisation can help with lodging arrangements and completing the necessary paperwork for entry and stay in Slovakia. Or, you could handle these arrangements on your own.
Medical Examination for Long Stays
Scholarship recipients who are staying longer than ninety days and who are not citizens of the EU, EEA, or Switzerland may need to apply for a temporary residency permit. This requires a medical examination to ensure the applicant is free of any illnesses that could endanger the public’s health. Upon receipt and submission, the scholarship program will repay the exam cost up to €250.
Travel Grant
In addition to the scholarship, students and PhD candidates are eligible to apply for a travel allowance. This is a one-time cost that varies according to how far you live from Slovakia’s destination. To determine the amount, use the distance calculator available on the program’s website.
