With an emphasis on protecting the ocean, waterways, and climate, the True Blue Fellowship (previously the Fellowship Grant Program) aims to unite and empower young people worldwide to use the creative arts to create change in their local communities. The Future Blue Youth Council (FBYC), a diverse group of Bow Seat alumni committed to enabling their peers to advocate for a healthy, sustainable, and equitable future, was the original creator and leader of this movement.
The True Blue Fellowship provides up to $2,500 in financing, mentorship, and capacity building for ten youth-led projects that address challenges related to the ocean, waterways, and/or climate change in their local communities
Eligibility Criteria :
- Worldwide youth, ages 13 to 24, are eligible to apply; submissions must be made in English.
- Verification of eligibility, age, or identity could be needed after the application is submitted.
- Applications may be filed by one person or by an arbitrary number of groups. Organizations need to name a principal contact who is a leader.
- Projects could be recent (no more than two years old) or developing.
- The creative arts must be the main tool used in projects to effect change.
- Projects should be aimed at protecting the environment, waterways, and/or the ocean.
- Youth may apply to other Bow Seat activities, such the Ocean Awareness Contest, but they may only submit one application per youth.
