The UN Young Professionals Program (YPP) 2024 is now accepting applications. With the UN Secretariat, the YPP seeks to hire bright young professionals from around the world to start careers as international civil servants. For individuals who pass the entrance exam, the program offers a professional development course in addition to an entrance examination. It is not necessary to have prior work experience because this program is meant for novices. The P-1 or P-2 level will be the starting point for selected candidates.
A two-year fixed-term contract with the UN Secretariat is available through the program. Those with a bachelor’s degree and no job experience are classified as P-1 level holders; those with a master’s degree and no work experience or a bachelor’s degree and two years of work experience are classified as P-2 level holders. The ability to accept placement at any UN duty station is a requirement for successful candidates. Starting a career with the UN is a great opportunity with the Young Professionals Program.
