Humboldt Research Fellowship 2024-2025 in Germany (Fully Funded)

The German Humboldt Research Fellowship for 2024–2025 is now accepting applications. The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is offering a fully financed fellowship to scholars worldwide for a period of 6 to 24 months. German nationals are not eligible to apply.

About 700 fellowships are given out each year, enabling academics to work on their studies in Germany. The Humboldt Foundation provides each fellow with individual support in addition to a monthly salary, a mentor, medical insurance, round-trip travel, a family allowance, and help with living expenses.

Course Level: Post-Doctoral, Experienced Researchers

Program Duration: Six to Twenty-Four Months

Eligibility Criteria:

  • All nationals are eligible, with the exception of German citizens.
  • Requirements: Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in lieu of doctorate.
  • Publishing in internationally renowned, peer-reviewed journals and other respectable outlets is one way to exhibit research excellence.
  • Research Profile: Candidates should have a solid record of academic and research accomplishments in their research profile.

  • CV updated (no more than two pages)
  • A five-page research outline is the maximum.
  • Comprehensive list of works
  • a list of a few important publications
  • Copies of important books and articles
  • Two evaluations by experts

  • Acceptance letter
  • German language proficiency certificate, if relevant
  • The host’s declaration and verification of the research facilities
