World Forum for Democracy 2024 (Fully Funded Conference in France)

The Council of Europe is hosting the fully financed World Forum for Democracy in Strasbourg, France, and is currently accepting applications. Every year, people come together from all over the world to talk about democracy, talk about the problems we face, and offer answers. “Democracy and Diversity: Can We Transcend the Divides?” is the topic for the 2024 event.

Sixty young people from all over the world will attend the forum, which takes place November 3–9, 2024. It is available to anybody with an interest in democracy, including academics, journalists, young people, civil society members, and politicians. Notably, there is no IELTS requirement for applicants.

The World Forum for Democracy is a call to action as much as it is a forum. This is a great chance to network and engage in thought-provoking conversations while touring France.

In an effort to promote harmony and understanding within democratic communities, the 2024 World Forum for Democracy investigates how democracies may prosper in the presence of a diverse population.

Important Topics for Discussion on the Forum:

  • Elections and differences in principles
  • Stopping the dissemination of false information
  • Increasing public involvement for the revival of democracy

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age requirements: 18 to 30 (exceptions available in rare instances)
  • Accepting people of various nationalities
  • capable of collaborating and communicating in English
  • able to fully engage in the World Forum for Democracy’s preparatory proceedings
  • Accepting applicants with any nationality and educational background
  • Willing to exchange experiences pertaining to diversity and democracy

Visas and travel:

Travel and visa fees will be paid for by the Council of Europe.

Accommodation:

The Council of Europe will cover the cost of board and lodging during the activity periods.
