Spain Sets Euro 2024 Records: 7/7 and More

Spain won their fourth European Championship championship, the most in history, after defeating England 2-1 at Euro 2024. Spanish domination was cemented by a record tournament.

Spain broke multiple Euro 2024 records. Having 10 different players score, they shattered the 24-year-old record for most individual Euro tournament goals. Since 2020, they have scored in twelve straight games, breaking England’s 2012 record.

England set some records despite losing. They have 45 Euros games without a win and the most top-four finishes without a win. On the bright side, England’s manager achieved a record with 13 uninterrupted matches.

Germany continued to hold the record for most Euro tournament appearances (14), games played (58), and wins (30). They also set a Euros record with 59 goals surrendered and 89 goals scored.

Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal achieved another Euro record with six tournaments and 30 matches. He leads Euro scoring with 14 goals. Ronaldo said Euro 2024 would be his last, but he’ll play in 2026.

Lamine Yamal of Spain became the youngest player to participate in a Euro final (17), score (16), and appear. Portugal’s Pepe, aged 41, became the oldest Euros player, while Croatia’s Luka Modrić, at 38, established the record for the oldest goalscorer.

Nedim Bajrami of Albania scored the quickest Euro goal at 23 seconds, while Merih Demiral of Turkey scored the fastest knockout goal at 57 seconds.

Italy had the most Euro draws (19), Portugal reached the knockout rounds for the seventh straight time, and Denmark lost the most matches (18).

With Spain’s unprecedented performance and many records broken, Euro 2024 was a remarkable tournament in football history.
