Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program 2025 | Fully Funded

Top U.S. colleges are offering the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program to Egyptian students seeking undergraduate or graduate degrees. These scholarships are given out in accordance with talent and character, which are shown via extracurricular involvement, academic achievement, and entrepreneurial spirit. Full tuition, living expenses, travel costs, and health insurance are all covered by the scholarships. Furthermore, Orascom Construction may provide an internship offer to the recipients.

Orascom Construction established the Onsi Sawiris Program in 2000 with the goal of funding educational projects that will assist the areas in which it works. It acts as an example of how the private sector may be involved in providing Egypt with long-term educational support. The program’s objective is to support young Egyptians’ intellectual and character development, giving them the tools, they need to advance in their jobs. Candidates who have never spent a significant amount of time living, studying, or working elsewhere are given preference. Only students enrolled in the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, and University of Pennsylvania are eligible to apply for the Onsi Sawiris Scholarship Program.

Eligibility Criteria:

For Undergraduates:

  • be citizens of Egypt who live there (applications with mixed nationality are not encouraged).
  • Aim to begin studies in the United States by 2025.
  • agree to spend two years of their bachelor’s degree completion back in Egypt.
  • have spent no more than three years living overseas.
  • A 100+ iBT TOEFL score.
  • 90% in Thanaweyya Amma or an equivalent GPA of 3.5.
  • Required minimum SAT scores:
  • Previous version of the SAT (before May 2017): Total 2100, Reading 700, Math 700, Writing 700.
  • Exam changes (after May 2017): Math 730, Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 730, and Overall, 1450.
  • or SAT II: 600+ in three topics.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities.

For Masters:

  • be Egyptian citizens who live in Egypt (holders of non-dual nationality are preferred).
  • Aim to enrol in a prestigious American university to obtain a master’s degree in engineering or business administration.
  • have spent no more than three years living overseas.
  • agree to spend two years of their bachelor’s degree completion back in Egypt.
  • A 100+ TOEFL iBT score.
  • 3.5 GPA or an overall grade of “Very Good”
  • three years’ worth of work experience, minimum.
  • GMAT of 650 or above required for MBA (taken within the last 5 years).
  • have participated in extracurricular activities in the past or now.
