Six Found Dead at Bangkok Luxury Hotel, Possible Poisoning

Published:

Six people, including two Vietnamese Americans, were found dead in a Bangkok luxury hotel room. The Grand Hyatt guests who missed their checkout time by 24 hours were found dead in a fifth-floor room. Bangkok’s Metropolitan Police commissioner, Thiti Saengsawang, said the bodies showed no evidence of physical assault and this was not a robbery.

Police investigated poisoning after finding white powder in cups and untouched food. Authorities are seeking for a seventh hotel booking participant who may be a suspect.

The other four victims are Vietnamese. One victim collapsed while trying to reach the door.

The US State Department offered condolences to the families of the two American deaths and said they are following the situation. They also offered consular aid to afflicted families.

In a high-profile Thai poisoning case last year, a lady was charged with 13 charges of premeditated murder employing cyanide.

Thai police are investigating this occurrence for all possible reasons of death.
