University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship 2024 | Fully Funded |

With funding from organizations including the Government of Canada, the Government of Alberta, and university benefactors, the University of Alberta provides a wide variety of awards, scholarships, and prizes to promote graduate studies. Certain awards are reserved especially for certain initiatives.

Research into additive manufacturing of zirconia-based ceramics for dental applications is one noteworthy scholarship opportunity. Dr. Yakout of the Alberta Next-Generation Additive Manufacturing (ANGAM) Lab and Dr. Romanyk of the University of Alberta’s Craniofacial Biomechanics and Biomaterials Research (CBBR) Group collaborated on this study.

In order to obtain desired results in dental applications, the project intends to optimise manufacturing processes (such as feedstock material and post-processing), with an emphasis on improving mechanical performance while taking biological and aesthetic elements into account. Advanced characterisation techniques and practical training in additive manufacturing will be part of the research activities.

Funding for living expenses and tuition will be awarded to recipients of the University of Alberta Scholarship; this funding is renewable each year until the program is completed.
