International students have an incredible opportunity to study for a master’s degree in the United States through the Louisiana State University Scholarship. The selected applicant will get a living stipend, health insurance, and tuition reimbursement in addition to being hired as a Graduate Research Assistant. An eager graduate student is needed for an innovative study at Louisiana State University’s IGLab that focuses on Roseau Cane monitoring in the lower Mississippi River Delta.
In order to support restoration efforts, this research uses cutting-edge remote sensing techniques. It also looks into the use of machine learning for automated remote imagery-based detection and counting of Roseau Cane Scale, an invasive species that affects P. australis.
To improve species management in aquatic habitats, the initiative combines entomology, machine learning, and remote sensing. The chosen student will work with a varied group of Louisiana State University specialists in ecology, entomology, and remote sensing.
