Eligibility Criteria:
- Needs to be a domestic or foreign student.
- must be starting the first year of any doctoral program provided by the University of Manitoba and be enrolled full-time in the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
- Must be starting a PhD program in graduate studies with a focus on research.
- must have completed the last 60 credit hours of study with a minimum degree grade point average of 3.75 (or equivalent).
- must keep up full-time enrollment in the University of Manitoba’s research-based PhD program in the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
- qualified if enrolled in a PhD program in its second, third, or fourth year and keeping a minimum 3.75 degree grade point average.
- After their fourth year of study, PhD candidates are not eligible for the scholarship to be renewed.

- There is a $5,000k annual scholarship total available.
- The University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship, the Manitoba Government Scholarship, Full Scholarships, or Top-ups to Tri-Council grants will be the ways in which this money is awarded.
