University of Montreal UdeM Exemption Scholarship | How to Apply 2025

For international students who would like to study in Canada, there is now the University of Montreal (UdeM) Exemption Scholarship available. The goal of the University of Montreal (UdeM) Exemption Scholarship is to provide up to $21,593 in annual study support to overseas students.

Situated in the largest province of Canada, Québec, Montréal is a well-liked destination for international students and is regularly named among the world’s top student cities (QS).

A new scholarship program at Université de Montréal exempts international students from additional tuition costs.

With this effort, one of the top francophone research universities in the world hopes to draw in top talent from across the globe. In exchange, by boosting the cultural richness of the Université de Montréal community, these foreign students will support the university’s instructional goal.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Study Permit: You cannot be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident without a study permit.
  • Full-Time Enrollment: For the course of their studies, students must be enrolled full-time in a study program.
  • No Other Exemptions: You are not eligible to acquire any other policies or measures-related tuition fee exemptions. For example, such exemptions already apply to Francophone students who are French or Belgian.

Benefits:

Undergraduate Students:

  • Level A: $6,870.30 per session (15 credits) or $13,740.60 per year (2 sessions, 30 credits). This sum is placed toward the $25,567.80 annual tuition charge (30 credits).
  • Level B: $3,274.20 per session (15 credits) or $6,548.40 annually (2 sessions, 30 credits). This sum is placed toward the $25,567.80 annual tuition charge (30 credits).

Masters Students:

  • Non-Research: $3,596.25 each session or $10,788.75 annually (3 sessions, 45 credits). This sum is placed toward the $29,084.40 annual tuition charge (45 credits).
  • $5,050.00 per session (15 credits) or $15,150.00 per year (3 sessions, 45 credits) for research. This sum is placed toward the $29,084.40 annual tuition charge (45 credits).

PhD Students:

  • $7,636.20 every session (15 credits) or $22,908.60 per year (3 sessions, 45 credits). This sum is placed toward the $29,788.60 annual tuition charge (45 credits).
