Cole Palmer is named Young Player of the Year, and Phil Foden is named PFA Player of the Year.
The Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) has named Phil Foden of Manchester City the Men’s Player of the Year, and Cole Palmer of Chelsea the Young Player of the Year. These are the first times that English players have received both awards since the 2009–10 campaign.
Foden was a key player in Manchester City’s unprecedented fourth consecutive Premier League triumph, having scored 19 goals in 35 league games in the 2023–24 campaign. He became the youngest player to win six league titles at the age of just 23. In addition to his two Young Player of the Year titles, Foden is now the recipient of the PFA Player of the Year award for the first time. In addition, he won the Premier League Player of the Season honor and was voted the 2023–24 Footballer of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA).
Cole Palmer, on the other hand, scored 22 goals in 34 Premier League games during his stellar season with Chelsea. His exceptional performance won him a place in the England squad for the 2024 Euros, where he scored in the championship match despite England’s 2-1 loss to Spain. Palmer won the Young Player of the Year title by defeating Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United, Michael Olise, a former player of Crystal Palace, and Joao Pedro of Brighton.
In the women’s division, Grace Clinton of Manchester United won Young Player of the Year while Khadija Shaw of Manchester City won Player of the Year.
