Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship 2025 | Fully Funded

International students can apply now for the 2025 Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship Program offered by the Swiss Government. These scholarships are given out annually to encourage research collaboration and international exchange between Switzerland and more than 180 other nations.

Foreign artists and academics can study at any of Switzerland’s 10 public universities, two Federal Institutes of Technology, public teaching and research institutes, and Universities of Applied Sciences with the Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship.

The scholarships are meant for foreign artists with a bachelor’s degree and young researchers who have finished their master’s or PhD. Two categories of scholarships exist:

Scholarships for research: For study or research at four research institutes, universities of applied sciences, two federal institutes of technology, and cantonal universities in Switzerland.

Art Scholarships: Exclusive to students from a limited group of nations, these scholarships can be used to study at any Swiss conservatorium or institution of the arts.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Degree Requirement: Prior to the start of the scholarship, a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited university is required.
  • Academic Proficiency: Needs to exhibit both academic proficiency and well-defined goals.
  • The age restriction is under 35 (born on or after January 1, 1979).
  • Language Proficiency: You must speak French, German, Italian, or English fluently in order to get tuition in that language.
  • Post-graduate researchers with a master’s degree or above who wish to conduct research or additional studies at the doctoral or postdoctoral level (research fellowship, PhD, Postdoc) in Switzerland are eligible to apply for research scholarships.
  • Art Scholarships: Available to students studying art in Switzerland for their first master’s degree.

  • Monthly Stipend: CHF 3,500 is the monthly stipend that recipients get.
