In addition to full scholarships, the Government of Ireland Scholarship Program offers an annual stipend of €22,000 and €3,250 for direct research expenditures. The goal of this program is to give foreign students more options in Ireland and throughout the world. An established national program, the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is overseen by the Council and supported by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science. Among the sponsored postgraduate education options available in the Irish environment, the Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is unique in the country’s research landscape. Among its notable characteristics are:
- Specialized rewards for exceptional research given out in the applicant’s name.
- an impartial selection procedure that includes independent, global expert peer assessment.
- Funding is accessible in all fields, including zoology and archaeology.
- Prizes for investigator-led, bottom-up research, excluding initiatives supported by our strategic partners.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Both program types have no upper age limit for candidates to be eligible.
- All applicants must be connected to or accepted into a recognized Irish institution of higher learning or research-producing enterprise.
- Only applications in English or Irish will be accepted.
- Regardless of changes in host institution or research topic, applicants must not have had two unsuccessful submissions to the relevant program in the past, including strategic partner topics.
