At the 50th OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) Session in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on August 29–30, 2024, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi will represent the nation. This significant assembly brings together Muslim leaders to discuss global challenges.
Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary will discuss global issues during the event. The Gaza genocide and humanitarian disaster will be top priorities. He will also address Israel’s aggressive Middle East policies, which destabilise the region, and the urgent necessity for worldwide acknowledgement of Jammu & Kashmir’s right to self-determination.
Qazi would also emphasise Ummah togetherness and unity in fighting global Islamophobia and xenophobia. He will also address climate change and terrorism, calling for collaborative action.
The Foreign Secretary is anticipated to hold bilateral conversations with OIC members during the CFM to deepen diplomatic ties and collaborate on shared issues.
Pakistan should use the 50th OIC CFM session to raise awareness of disadvantaged Muslim populations and the necessity for global cooperation on current issues.
