Indonesia’s Muslim Lifestyle Festival Highlights Growth in Halal Industry

Published:

Indonesia held its largest Muslim lifestyle festival to support the growing halal business. Tens of thousands of Indonesians attended the 2024 Muslim Lifestyle Festival on Jakarta’s outskirts over the weekend, marking a major step toward expanding the halal market.

The three-day fair, which began on Friday, featured over 200 Indonesian lifestyle and service firms offering halal products and services. Halal food, Islamic publications, halal-certified cosmetics, and Hajj trip packages were offered at the event, which was intended to draw 45,000 guests.

Such activities promote the halal business, and Indonesian Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan encouraged Muslims to focus on economic and educational growth, entrepreneurship, and halal food. The world’s largest Muslim-majority nation, Indonesia, hosted the “biggest and most comprehensive” celebration of its type.

The festival’s Islamic education and halal industry leader conversations supported the government’s goal of making Indonesia a global halal leader. Indonesia rose to third in the Global Islamic Economy Indicator by 2023, demonstrating its expanding halal market significance.
