Pakistan Leaps to Tier-1 in the Global Cybersecurity Index 2024

Published:

In the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) 2024, Pakistan rose from 79 to join the top 40 Tier-1 (role-modelling) countries. This shows Pakistan’s dedication to cybersecurity, notably in IT and telecom.

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) says this huge improvement shows the country’s overall cybersecurity efforts. The Cyber Security Policy, CERT Rules, CTDISR, and Cybersecurity Strategy are driving this progress. Regular telecom cybersecurity checks have also been important.

The National Telecom Security Operation Centre (SOC) and CERT have improved Pakistan’s security. Information sharing, incident handling, and rapid cyber threat response depend on these groups. Domestic telecom carriers’ compliance with international cybersecurity standards has also strengthened Pakistan’s defences.

With MoITT and PTA leading these efforts, Pakistan has a safe and resilient cyberspace. This GCI ranking upgrade shows Pakistan’s cybersecurity progress and IT industry growth as a worldwide cybersecurity leader.
