Submit an application for the Commonwealth Youth Awards 2025 to be eligible to earn certificates, trophies, and cash rewards. These honors, which are given out by the Commonwealth Youth Programme, honor excellence in development activities. They recognize young people, between the ages of 15 and 29, who are positively influencing sustainable development in their local communities. The Khalil Foundation and the Commonwealth Foundation have teamed together to provide more grants and awards this year. The goal of the Commonwealth Youth Awards is to honor young people who support the 2030 Agenda and SDGs by advancing justice, peace, prosperity, and sustainability. The awards provide young people the confidence to lead development projects by endorsing youth-led projects. The Commonwealth also shares the success stories of the nominees in an effort to motivate and inspire others to work in development.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The nominee must have at least a year’s worth of professional or volunteer experience working in development.
- The development effort must be carried out in a Commonwealth nation, and the nominee must be a citizen of that nation.
- The nominee’s age range must fall between 15 and 29 by December 31, 2024.
- The nominee or a person acquainted with their development work may submit nominations.
Benefits:
- A certificate, a trophy, and a £1,000 prize will be given to each of the 20 Regional Finalists.
- The five regional winners will get a trophy, a certificate, and an extra £2,000 for a total of £3,000.
- Together with a trophy and a diploma, the Pan-Commonwealth Winner will earn an extra £2,000, for a total of £5,000 in rewards.
- Three Youth PEACE Awards will also be given by the Khalili Foundation to young people engaged in development and peace.
