With great pleasure, the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong announces the 2025–26 Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS), an esteemed initiative founded in 2009. With the help of this fellowship, top universities in Hong Kong hope to draw in extraordinarily gifted and bright students from all over the world to pursue PhD programs.
For international students interested in pursuing PhD studies in a variety of fields at top Hong Kong universities, the HKPFS provides fully financed scholarships. The fellowship offers full financial assistance, including funding for research projects and international conferences in addition to a substantial annual stipend to cover living expenses.
Applying for this coveted fellowship will allow eligible students to study at elite universities known for their outstanding research. The 2025–2026 fellowship application date is December 1, 2024. Prospective candidates must adhere to the application guidelines furnished by both the participating colleges and the RGC.

Required Qualifications:
Outstanding academic achievement, the capacity or aptitude for research, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and a track record of leadership are all requirements for admission.
Benefits:
- Annual stipend: HK$337,200 (about US$43,230)
- Travel Allowance: HK$14,00 (about US$1,790) per year for research and conferences
