Applications for the 2024 UBC Killam Scholarship are now being accepted by the University of British Columbia in Canada. This scholarship is available to both domestic and foreign students. The most prominent scholarship program at UBC for graduate students is the Killam Doctoral Scholarship, which offers a $40,000 annual stipend for two years. Through donations provided by Dorothy J. Killam during her lifetime and through her Will, the Killam Scholarship and Prize Programs were founded in memory of Izaak Walton Killam. The Canada Council for the Arts and five Canadian universities’ advanced education and research are the main beneficiaries of these programs. The Izaak Walton Killam Memorial Fund for Advanced Studies is responsible for funding the UBC Killam Doctoral Scholarships each year. It was Mrs. Killam’s hope that beneficiaries of the scholarship would be people who are “likely to contribute to the advancement of learning or to achieve distinction in their profession.”
