The 2025 DAAD Masters Wits-TUB-UNILAG Scholarship is currently accepting applications from eligible and motivated African applicants. Selected applicants for the DAAD Masters Scholarships will receive monthly stipends to help with housing, health care, and travel expenditures in addition to tuition, travel, and medical expenses. The University of the Witwatersrand’s School of Architecture and Planning is awarding Master’s scholarships to students as part of the WITS-TUB-UNILAG Program.

The Wits-TUB-UNILAG Urban Lab initiative is offering scholarships for the one-year full-time Master of Urban Studies (MUS) degree in Urban Management at Wits University in Johannesburg.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The multidisciplinary program focuses on housing, urban management, development planning, sustainable urban development, and urban design.
- We encourage applications from students studying architecture, urban planning, social sciences, humanities, cultural studies, urban geography, and related subjects such as landscape architecture.
- Although there is no upper age limit, candidates must have graduated within the previous six years.
- Scholarships are given out according to three criteria: gender parity, geographic dispersion, and merit.
- For eleven months, the curriculum is full-time, and students are not permitted to work during that time.
- A bachelor’s degree that is the equivalent of an honors degree (NQF level 8) in South Africa is required of applicants. A SAQA application is not required for degrees awarded by universities in South Africa.
- Although the program is taught in English, it is advised that participants be fluent in other languages pertinent to their fieldwork.
