The FAO Internship Program draws bright young people who are eager to add new insights, creative concepts, and cutting-edge research to FAO’s areas of expertise. A monthly stipend of up to US$700 in local currency is awarded to interns. With the help of this program, students at all academic levels and recent graduates can supplement their theoretical knowledge with practical work experience in domains relevant to the Food and Agriculture Organization. Applications for internships at the FAO Headquarters in Italy and other international locations are currently being accepted for the FAO Internship Program 2025. FAO, a specialized agency of the UN, leads international initiatives to end hunger and provide food security for all. Their goal is to make wholesome food consistently accessible, encouraging active and healthful lives all around the world. FAO, which has 194 member nations and operates in over 130 countries, promotes international participation in the fight against hunger.
Eligibility Criteria:
- either a recent graduate or an undergraduate or graduate student participating in a recognized program at an IAU/UNESCO-listed institution
- Study area pertinent to FAO’s activity and mission
- At least one of the FAO’s languages—Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish—must be mastered; a second language is advantageous.
- Be a citizen of one of the FAO’s member nations.
- Age bracket: 21–30
- able to flourish in global, multicultural settings and possess excellent communication abilities
- Not linked to parents or siblings of current FAO employees
- Must be in a legal status of residency or immigration for the internship location.

Benefits:
- Interns at FAO receive a monthly salary of $700.
- If an intern is not supported by a university or another organization, stipend is applicable.
- The stipend is paid to each intern for the duration of the internship.
- The length of an internship is three to eleven months.
