Eligibility Criteria:
- possess a bachelor’s degree with First-Class Honors, or an equivalent degree, and often place in the top 5% of their class upon graduation.
- Exhibit exceptional academic achievement, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
- possess a keen sense of curiosity about their topic of study and effective communication abilities.
- Make a compelling research proposal that could benefit Western Australia and beyond.
- have spoken with a potential PhD supervisor who has consented to offer supervision on their research goals.
Benefits:
- Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend: Based on annual modifications, each scholar will receive an RTP Stipend or an equivalent postgraduate research fellowship in 2024, with annual adjustments ranging from $32,192 to $37,000. The enrolling university determines the final sum.
- Forrest Hall offers luxurious housing: scholars reside in separate studio apartments. With annual indexing, the lodging allowance is projected to be worth $24,128 in 2024. If an exemption is granted, this allowance can be used for other residential expenses in addition to covering the cost of luxurious living.
- Relocation and Research Travel Allowance: The scholar and any immediate dependents may use up to $12,000 for research-related costs and travel, which includes economy flight to Perth. Additionally, travel for conferences and overseas study may be covered by this stipend.
- Scholarships for both domestic and international fees:
- foreign Scholars: Be awarded an RTP Fees Offset Scholarship or its equivalent, which will pay for all foreign tuition costs as well as health insurance for international students.
- Domestic Scholars: During the term of the scholarship, they will not be required to pay tuition thanks to an RTP Fees Offset Scholarship.
