Open to students worldwide, the University of Hong Kong Summer Internship is a fully financed research program that provides a special chance to learn from and work with leading experts in the field.
For a 10-week intense research training experience at one of Asia’s top research universities, chosen candidates will earn a $20,000 stipend.

The demanding 10-week 2025 HKU Summer Research Programme consists of recreational activities, networking opportunities, and research activities.
Eligibility Criteria :
- excellent students in their third or fourth year of undergraduate studies with a CGPA of 3.6 or higher, or excellent Master’s degree candidates with a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree, are eligible applicants.
Selection Standards:
- Exhibited excellence in academics
- strong desire to pursue postgraduate research courses
- Experience conducting pertinent research
- High level of English competence

Benefits :
- Mentorship: Mentors will be paired according to research interests, and participants will organize and carry out a research project under the supervision of a renowned HKU professor.
- Scholarship: After finishing the program, each participant will get HK$10,000.
- Financial Assistance: Up to HK$5,000 will be reimbursed for both university housing and airfare. (Only students who are already living or studying in Hong Kong are eligible for accommodation help.)

- PhD Scholarship Opportunity: The HKU Presidential PhD Scholarship offers exceptional participants a conditional offer that includes:
- In the first year, up to HK$433,300 (US$55,560).
- HK$413,300 (US$52,990) per year for the following years of the study.
