Every year, teachers from all over the world can apply for the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (TEA) Program offered by the U.S. Department of Education.
This fully funded program offers a six-week professional development opportunity at a U.S. host university to overseas secondary-level instructors. For K–12 educators from the United States and partner nations or territories, the program also offers a variety of exchange alternatives.
Participants take part in scholarly seminars covering subjects like content-based instruction, instructional technology, student-centered learning, and innovative teaching approaches.
Participants also work in a local secondary school for at least 40 hours in the field with a U.S. partner educator. Through a variety of cultural events, they also fully integrate into their host communities and American society.
Eligibility Criteria :
- must currently be employed as a full-time secondary school teacher at a facility that primarily serves the local community.
- possess a bachelor’s degree or a comparable degree.
- possess a minimum of five years of experience instructing students in the subjects of English, science, math, social studies, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), or special education.
- A minimum TOEFL score of 450 on the paper-based examination or a comparable English proficiency exam indicates fluency in both written and spoken English.
- After finishing the program, show that you are committed to teaching.
