Eligibility Criteria:

  • must be a national of one of the designated qualifying nations.
  • should not be considered an overseas compatriot student or possess dual citizenship with Taiwan.
  • must fulfill the partner university’s admission requirements.
  • must meet Taiwanese government standards for an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and Resident Visa (Code: FS).
  • cannot receive more than one scholarship from the Taiwanese government during the same academic year.
  • If a TaiwanICDF scholarship has already been granted, it must have been finished by July 31, 2024.
  • The highest-level diploma must be presented by July 31, 2025, at the latest.

Airfare:

  • Round-trip economy class tickets for the most direct flights to and from Taiwan, arranged by the TaiwanICDF.
  • Students should verify airline-specific policies for luggage and other requirements.

Housing:

All students are required to stay in university-provided dormitories, with housing costs fully covered.

Tuition Fees:

All required tuition fees for the student’s university are covered by the TaiwanICDF.

Credit Fees:

Credit fees, which depend on the number of credits enrolled, are fully covered.

Insurance:

  • Mandatory student safety insurance as per Taiwan’s Ministry of Education is provided.
  • Additional accidental and medical coverage for the entire program duration is also included.

Book Costs:

Textbook costs will be covered upon approval from the student’s institute director.

Monthly Allowance:

  • Master’s Program: NT$18,000 per month for food and living expenses.
  • Ph.D. Program: NT$20,000 per month for food and living expenses.
  • The allowance is directly deposited into the student’s local bank account each month.
