Sokendai KEK Summer Student Program 2025 Japan (Fully Funded)

The Sokendai KEK Summer Student Program 2025 in Japan is now accepting applications. Both Japanese students and overseas students can enroll in this fully financed summer program. At KEK campuses, participants will have the chance to conduct research under the guidance of faculty members. The two campuses of KEK, a well-known research lab in Japan, are located in Tsukuba and Tokai.

The eight-week program, which runs from June to August 2025, is funded by SOKENDAI, the Graduate University for Advanced Studies. Undergraduate and graduate students from all over the world are welcome. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Eligibility for All Students: Participants from a variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply, since the program is available to both Japanese and international students.
  • Academic Requirement: Students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees in any subject are welcome to apply.
  • Language Requirement: No IELTS or other English proficiency exam results must be submitted.
  • No application costs: Since the program has no application costs, applicants can submit their applications at no cost.

Benefits:

  • Coverage for airfare: All airfare costs between the participant’s home country and Japan are paid for.
  • Accommodation Support: Program participants receive reimbursement for their lodging costs.
  • Daily Allowance: To meet living expenses, a stipend of 1,500 yen is given each day.
  • Domestic Transportation: Included are transportation expenses from the airport (Narita/Haneda) to the program site.
