Durham University’s Hatfield Lioness Scholarship provides postgraduate study funding in full to female students from developing nations that have little access to higher education. Full tuition, a living stipend, airfare and visa fees, and housing at Hatfield College are all covered by the scholarship.
In order to enable them to finish and gain from a Master’s program, recipients are chosen based on both their academic and personal attributes. During their time in Durham, they are also expected to act as good representatives of their nation and, when they return, use the information and abilities they have gained to advance society.
The award was created in 2018 to commemorate Hatfield College’s 30 years of female students and is supported by the college’s friends, alumni, and other sponsors.
Eligibility Criteria :
- must have applied for a Master’s program by June 2025 and been accepted without reservation.
- No other postgraduate scholarship may be being received.
- It has to be a woman.
- The application website specifies that the applicant must be a citizen of a developing countries.
- must possess an appropriate honors degree that satisfies the prerequisites for admission to the selected Master’s program.
- must meet all prerequisites for the course, including fluency in English.
- must not be a Master’s degree holder already.
- must not have the funds to independently pursue a Master’s degree in the UK.
