The prize, which is sponsored by the People’s Republic of China government, is given to two laureates each year. Each recipient receives $50,000 to support their efforts to advance women’s and girls’ education. Through its emphasis on fair access, inclusive curricula, efficient teaching strategies, enhanced learning outcomes, and expanded career and life prospects, UNESCO emphasizes the necessity of gender equality throughout the educational system.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Nominations must be made in either French or English using the specific web platform.
- Either a National Commission or the relevant Member State’s Permanent Delegation to UNESCO may submit nominations.
- UNESCO has a formal agreement with an NGO.
