The OIST Research Internship in Japan for the Spring 2026 session is now accepting applications. The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST) is providing international students with this fully financed opportunity. The internship can last anywhere from three months to six months at most. Applications are welcome from students worldwide.
The dates of the Spring 2026 internship are April 1, 2026, through September 30, 2026. Both recent graduates with a degree in either discipline from any accredited university and enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s students are eligible for the program. An English language proficiency exam (TOEFL or IELTS) is not required. Under the careful supervision of an OIST academic member, interns will work.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Open to students of all nationalities; no restrictions on country of origin
- No requirement to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores
- Applicants currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program are eligible
- Applicants currently enrolled in a graduate degree program are eligible
- Recent graduates with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree can also apply
