The Fulbright U.S. Student Program 2026–2027, a fully financed foreign educational exchange program supported by the U.S. government, is currently accepting applications. This esteemed program provides the chance to participate in a full-time academic program covering a variety of subjects, teach English, undertake research, or pursue graduate studies.
College seniors, graduate students, and early-career professionals with a variety of academic and professional backgrounds are eligible to apply for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program. The program allows members to study, teach, or do research anywhere in the world outside of the United States thanks to relationships in more than 140 nations.
Eligibility Criteria :
- U.S. Citizenship: At the time of application, candidates must be citizens or nationals of the United States. Eligibility is not available to permanent residents. Specific award requirements should be reviewed by dual citizens.
- Educational Requirement: By the beginning of the grant, a bachelor’s degree is necessary.
- Exception for the Creative and Performing Arts: In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, candidates in certain professions may be eligible with four years of professional training or experience.
- Language Proficiency: Candidates must exhibit sufficient language abilities for the project and everyday living in the host nation, as well as meet the award’s language proficiency requirements.
- Those with a J.D. are eligible to apply.
Holders of M.D. degrees:
- Only qualified for higher academic study.
- Not qualified for clinical practice, internships, or residencies.
- The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program is the application process for those who have finished postgraduate training and want to conduct clinical or hospital research.
- Clinical procedures that include patient care or interaction are prohibited.
