Early-stage researchers have a unique opportunity to become part of an ambitious project aimed at enhancing medical research and developing treatments for chronic inflammatory disorders through the COFUND MAP-ID Program at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Participants in this 48-month research training program can contribute to innovative initiatives that tackle pressing medical issues like ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, arthritis, and other autoimmune disorders by fusing academic quality with real-world expertise. In order to create novel treatment approaches, the MAP-ID program encourages a multidisciplinary approach that combines pharmacology, biotechnology, and molecular biology.
Thirteen PhD students will be selected to carry out cutting-edge research at Jagiellonian University and in its vast global network. Participants in the program will obtain vital international views on chronic inflammation and its treatment through secondments to prestigious universities in the US and Europe. In order to further combine academic research with its practical application, participants will also work with European biotechnology businesses during a three-month industry placement.
