NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) 2026 in USA (Fully Funded)

Applications for the 2026 NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) are now being accepted. Both U.S. citizens and foreign applicants who wish to support ongoing NASA research projects can apply for this fully sponsored program.

Participants from outside the US are welcome at the NPP, and foreign nationals are eligible to get a J-1 visa. Participants will carry out research at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or a NASA-affiliated research institution for the course of the three-year fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • All applicants, regardless of nationality, are eligible.
  • Citizenship Status: Available to foreign nationals, U.S. citizens, and U.S. lawful permanent residents (LPRs).
  • Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or an equivalent doctoral degree as an educational requirement.
  • Postdoctoral Fellows: At the time of application, candidates must have completed their doctorate within the previous five years.
  • Senior Fellows: Must have demonstrated notable professional achievements in their field and obtained their doctorate more than five years before applying.
  • Pre-Ph.D. applicants: You can apply before finishing your Ph.D., but before the program starts, all degree criteria must be met and documentation submitted.
