Applications are now open for the RIFS Fellows Program 2026 in Germany, a fully funded international fellowship for applicants worldwide. The fellowship duration ranges from 6 to 12 months, during which selected participants will live in the Potsdam area and carry out research at the Research Institute for Sustainability (RIFS). The program aims to foster innovative ideas and solutions for sustainability transformations.
Each year, around 20 fellows from diverse backgrounds join the program. There is no application fee and IELTS is not required. The fellowship covers all related expenses, making it accessible to a wide range of applicants. Key details about financial support, eligibility, and the application process are provided below.
Eligibility Criteria :
- All nationalities are invited to apply; candidates are encouraged to apply from any nation.
- PhD-holding scientists or those with comparable research experience
- Professionals outside of academia having a minimum of three to five years of relevant work experience
- People from a variety of industries, including the commercial sector, civil society, public policy, the arts, and the media
- Forward-thinking individuals dedicated to promoting sustainability change
