Are you an early-career postdoctoral scholar or a senior PhD candidate who is enthusiastic about digital technologies and migration? The Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Future Leaders Fellowship 2025 is a distinguished, fully funded international program designed to promote professional development and influential, multidisciplinary research in the fields of advanced digital technologies and immigrant integration.
This year-long fellowship, which is provided through TMU’s Bridging Divides Program, pairs up up-and-coming scholars with seasoned academic mentors and assigns them to one of four thematic research groups: citizenship and participation, place and infrastructure, employment and lifelong learning, or immigrant health and well-being. Through group research, organized mentoring, and the chance to present their work at a significant international academic conference, the program aims to assist fellows in developing their academic careers.

Eligibility Criteria:
- PhD candidate who has finished the first draft of their dissertation, or
- Within five years after completing a PhD, a postdoctoral scholar
- connected with a university anywhere in the world
- The relationship between migration and cutting-edge digital technologies—such as digital equity, health integration, civic engagement, smart infrastructure, etc.—was the subject of research interests.
Benefits:
- A stipend of $5,000 is given out in two installments:
- At the beginning of the program, $3,000 will be given to cover the expense of preliminary research and travel.
- Following your article’s successful submission, you will receive $2,000, which will represent your growth and contribution.
- For the first five days of the trip, all travel costs—including airfare, local transportation, and any necessary lodging—are paid.
- Complete reimbursement for conference attendance expenses, including:
- Travel expenses to the conference
- Accommodations for the occasion
- A daily stipend to pay for things like meals and transportation
- conference registration costs in order to take part in all of the sessions and events that are scheduled.
- Peer-reviewed paper submissions are fully covered by open access publication costs, guaranteeing that your work is widely available to the academic community and beyond.
