The goal of the Cowrie Scholarship Foundation (CSF) is to increase Black British students from socioeconomically underprivileged households’ access to higher education. In the next ten years, the Foundation hopes to assist more than 100 students in partnership with top UK universities, such as the University of Aberdeen.

The University of Aberdeen is one of the oldest and most prominent universities in the United Kingdom, having been established in 1495.Situated in Scotland, it provides a diverse array of undergraduate programs, top-notch research facilities, and an active, welcoming campus community.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Ethnic Background: One of the following must be identified:
  • Black or British-Caribbean Black
  • Black or British-African Black
  • Black and White Caribbean mixed
  • Black and White African mixed
  • Any additional black background
  • University Offer: In accordance with UCAS deadlines, you must have firmly accepted an offer to enroll in the University of Aberdeen’s full-time first undergraduate program for the 2025–2026 academic year.
  • Residency and Fee Status: For tuition fee purposes, a student must be categorized as either “home” or “rest of UK.”
  • Household Income: The entire annual household income must be £25,000 or less.
  • Application for Student Finance:
  • A UK regional funding authority (such as Student Finance England, SAAS, Student Finance Wales, or Student Finance Northern Ireland) must be applied to for full income-assessed financial support.
  • Financial information sharing with the University of Aberdeen requires consent.
