The University of Alberta is offering fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships for international students, covering tuition and living expenses with renewable support throughout the program. A position is open in the Plant Biotechnology Lab, Faculty of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences, for research in yeast metabolic engineering and canola hybrid breeding. The selected candidate will join a collaborative team working in lab and greenhouse settings on gene analysis, plant transformation, and molecular characterization.
Eligibility Criteria :
- possess either a Master’s degree in plant molecular biology or a similar field for PhD applicants, or a Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field for MSc applicants.
- Be open to enrolling in an MSc or PhD program at the University of Alberta.
- Show a strong background in plant molecular biology; candidates for PhD programs should also have practical knowledge of plant tissue culture and transformation.
- It is advantageous to be familiar with computational methods for gene and protein sequence analysis.
- Have a demonstrated ability to work well with others and possess outstanding organizational and verbal communication abilities.
- fulfill the requirements for admission established by the Department of Agricultural, Food, and Nutritional Science at the University of Alberta.
