The two-year Utah State University Master’s Scholarship is completely supported and comes with health insurance, full tuition and fees, and an annual stipend of $22,000. With this graduate assistantship, a master’s student can become a member of a multidisciplinary research team through the Wildlife Eco-Epidemiology Lab in the Department of Veterinary and Clinical Life Sciences. With sporadic fieldwork, the function mostly focuses on data administration and analysis. Using necropsy data, the student will conduct research on historical mortality trends in waterfowl in the Great Salt Lake region. Additionally, by integrating historical statistics on bird populations and lake hydrology, helping to plan outbreak responses, and creating models to identify risk factors and management techniques, they will support a postdoctoral researcher on avian botulism.
