Open Source UK AI Fellowship 2025 (Fully Funded)

A distinguished, fully funded 12-month program, the Open Source AI Fellowship 2025 is intended for AI academics, professionals, and engineers who are keen to have a significant effect on the UK public sector. This fellowship puts participants at the vanguard of open-source artificial intelligence innovation and was started by the Alan Turing Institute in partnership with Meta and the UK Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).

Fellows will work on addressing some of the most important and high-stakes problems facing the country in fields like public policy, healthcare, and national security while integrated in DSIT’s Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (i.AI). By emphasizing open-source development, all AI research findings and solutions will be made publicly available for the general public’s benefit, guaranteeing accessibility, transparency, and long-term effects.

By providing chances to develop leadership abilities, bolster research capacities, and work with leaders in government, academia, and business, the fellowship also places a strong emphasis on professional development. In order to build a more resilient and creative AI ecosystem, participants will be important in determining the direction of AI in the UK.
