Applications are now open for the 2026 University of Melbourne Law School Visiting Fellowship.
Hosted by the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness, this fully funded two-month fellowship invites global applicants with a research focus or interest in statelessness—a condition in which individuals are not recognized as citizens by any country under its laws.
The fellowship must commence between July and November 2026. There is no application fee, and the program provides AUD $6,000, which covers travel and accommodation costs in Melbourne.

Eligibility Criteria :
- Open to applicants of all nationalities.
- Academic applicants: From early-career researchers (postdoctoral level) to tenured professors engaged in work related to statelessness.
- Non-academic professionals are also encouraged to apply, provided they propose an applied research project relevant to the issue of statelessness.
- Individuals with lived experience of statelessness are strongly encouraged to apply.
- All candidates must show a genuine interest in statelessness and submit a proposal aligned with the Centre’s research focus.
Australia is the host nation.
