A merit-based scholarship, the University of Lausanne (UNIL) Master’s Scholarship is intended for students who have finished their undergraduate studies at a foreign university and have shown exceptional academic achievement.
The scholarship offers CHF 1,600 per month for the duration of the selected master’s program, which is the minimum required term.

A small number of full scholarships are available each year from UNIL; nevertheless, candidates should be aware that the monthly stipend is insufficient to pay all living expenses in Switzerland.
Eligibility Criteria :
- Must hold a foreign university degree considered equivalent to a bachelor’s at UNIL before starting the master’s program
Must have shown outstanding academic performance during previous studies
Required language proficiency:
- At least B2 in French (European Language Portfolio global scale), or
At least C1 in English, depending on the language of instruction for the chosen master’s program - Must not already be registered at UNIL
- Must pay the CHF 200 administration fee (as specified in the “list of documents to attach to your application”)

Benefits :
- The UNIL Master’s Scholarship provides CHF 1,600 per month from 15 September to 15 July (10 months per year)
Funding is granted for the entire duration of the master’s program (1.5 or 2 years, depending on the chosen program) - The scholarship is discontinued in cases of definitive failure after the first year
- Recipients are exempt from fixed registration fees, except for a CHF 80 fee per semester
