Applications for the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme 2026/27 are now open for talented candidates seeking to pursue doctoral studies in Hong Kong. Organized by the Research Grants Council (RGC), the fellowship offers an annual stipend of US$43,690 along with a travel allowance of US$1,820 for conference and research-related activities, provided for up to three years. Established in 2009, the scheme aims to attract outstanding students worldwide to advance their PhD studies at Hong Kong universities.

Eligibility Criteria :
- Demonstrate strong academic performance, research potential, communication and interpersonal skills, as well as leadership qualities.
- Apply as new full-time PhD students at any of the eight partner universities under the HKPFS.
- Open to applicants of all nationalities, regardless of work experience or ethnic background.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
- Fulfill the specific admission requirements of the chosen university’s PhD program.
