United Nations University Scholarship (UNU) For Developing Countries | Fully Funded 2026

The United Nations University (UNU) Joint Master’s Scholarship Programme is part of the prestigious EPOS funding scheme by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This fully funded program equips postgraduate students with advanced knowledge, critical understanding, and practical tools to address environmental risks and human security through an interdisciplinary approach.

The scholarship covers tuition fees and living expenses, allowing selected candidates to study in Germany. It is offered through a collaboration between the University of Bonn’s Department of Geography and the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS).

This program significantly contributes to the internationalization of the University of Bonn while advancing UNU’s mission to promote sustainable and equitable development worldwide.

Eligibility Criteria :

  • Must be a citizen of a developing country (as classified by DAAD)
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience (e.g., with an NGO, government organization, or private sector)
  • Bachelor’s degree completed within the last five years
  • Should not have previously earned a Master’s degree in a similar field
  • Must demonstrate a clear career goal as a practitioner in a field related to the program

Germany is the host nation.

Developing countries are eligible.
